That Important First Win
I took the picture above from my seat at Dodger Stadium. I am so proud of my Dodgers. Almost every sportswriter in the country thought that the Cardinals would take the series, USA Today thought that the Red Birds would win 4 out of 4.
The Dodgers pulled off that first win last night.
I can't write much right now because I am heading out to Dodger Stadium for Game Two. The pregame starts 1 1/2 hours before game time so I am leaving soon. I will post more pictures later today. I took over 400 pictures last night so I have to pick my favorites.
The heroes of last nights game were Raffy Furcal, Matty Kemp and Jeff Weaver, the reliever who was the winning pitcher.

Matty hit a two run homerun in the first inning which put the Dodgers ahead for the rest of the game. Raffy also had a great game. Jeff Weaver came in to replace our starter Randy Wolf. Jeff has been outstanding all season in long relief. Congrats also to Belisario, Kuo, Sherrill and of course, our closer, Broxton.
Also congratulations to all the other teams who won their first game, the Yankees (Jane and Virginia) and the Phillies (Jenn).

Manny is having a tough series - I hope he comes through for you guys. I heard about the LA Times reporter who will be giving his two WS tickets to a reader who can write a "motivational" speech to Manny. I really hope he doesn't let the team down. Good luck - I'm watching the game now!

Cat: Congrats on that win, and congrats on a game 2 win!!! I watched part of game 2. I was dying for Andre to bat because I had never seen him bat before, I have only seen highlights. Well, in the first Andre at-bat I ever saw, he hit a solo homer to tie the game at 1! It was amazing! Honestly, I think he knew I was watching and wanted to make an impression, lol.
Thank you, my Yankees beasted in game 1. A.J. Burnett starts game 2 for us in about 3 hours and 10 minutes. I hope my boys beast again!
